Can anyone name famous occultists or other 'dark' magic practitioners from history?

I was just curious after watching a doentary about Aleister Crowley if there were any other people in history that were similar to him. I know of only one that springs to mind, Annie Palmer, the White Witch of Rose Hall in Haiti. I'm not asking or stating that magic is evil or whatever. But Annie Palmer was known to kill her husbands and slaves and Crowley had at least one of his followers die on him. Right or wrong are there any other infamous figures in history that practiced what may be seen as 'dark' or 'black' magic?
