Which stage of mitosis is when the chromosomes are the most tightly condensed?

I'm thinking it's prophase. Interphase is when chromosomes are in nondividing cell, you can't see them under a light microscope. Condensing only occurs when the cell is about to divide. metaphase is when the chromosomes align on the metaphase plate, so if they stop bunching up, the chromosomes become less dense. Therefore, prophase would be the best answer.
