Should i spray my "fake" ugg boots with that water resistant spray?

i just got these adorable boots,theyre just like uggs,theyre chocolate brown with whote fur inside,i want to pretect then tho,should i srpay them with that water resistant shoe srpay or will it ruin them? plz help
