PLEASE please HELP...if a guy was in a hurry...would you ask him or not??

i'm friends with mike & i feel bad i never get to see him bec. he's not in any of my cles at college...he said "we should get lunch sometime" about 3 months ago...i never got around to it but i brought it up & he said "yea text me" so if i see him in the hall in person when he's in a hurry running to cl @ the last sec could i ask him "will u be around later?" do u think that's ok or will it make him feel nervous & awkward? i just prefer asking in person rather than text
