Weird to eat while watching a horror/gorry film?

So, sometimes, my buddies and I will rent a gory flick and watch it. They're always mortified when they watch it, and look disgusted. I, on the otherhand, will pretty much eat a medium steak while watching it. I don't find gory movies very disturbing at all. Is this weird?
